|1,15,350 beneficiaries for Qurbani 2012|
New Delhi (31/10/2012): Qurbani 2012 project implemented 10 north India states namely, Assam (North & South), Bihar, West Bengal, Delhi & Haryana, U.P. (East & West), Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. In north Assam, the project was implemented in the riot victim refugee camps. The qurbani meat reached the most needy 1,15,350 families across north India.
The total number of qurbani performed was 3350 of which 2350 were big cattles and 1000 goats. Major part had been implemented in Assam riot affected districts of Chirag and Kokrajhar. The refugee camps in Assam include Amguri, Duturi, Bhawraguri, Majoobari, Karogaon, Hewaria Pet, Babubill, Simol Tapu, Bhamorabill and Koladangi.
This program was made a reality with the help of well-wishers and associates of Human Welfare Foundtion and several international partner organizations. Partner organizations for Qurbani 2012 includes: Islamic Circle of North America, IHH - Turkey, International Federation for Relief and Development, Red Crescent - UAE, D M Foundation -Kerala and Qatar Charity. The representatives from IHH and International Federation for Relief and Development reached India for the implementation of the project.
|National Award for Human Welfare Foundation|
New Delhi (13/11/2012): Human Welfare Foundation is honored with national award for its remarkable works on education. The award is a joint venture of chamber of education New Delhi and Calicut University, Kerala. The award will be given at the formal function which will be held next month.
The leaders of award committee said that the award is given for the extra ordinary works done by the foundation under vision 2016 project. They said, the foundation since the last 5 years have across north India helped in establishing 44 schools, slum schools, hostels, organized awards for academic excellence, distributed scholarships, organized education awareness campaigns, availed government scholarships for the needy and that itís a model for the whole country. The committee congratulated for the achievement. Human Welfare Foundation is chaired by Sayyed Hamid (Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard and former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University). Professor K.A Siddique Hassan is the general secretary of the foundation.
Apart from education, Human Welfare Foundation is working in the fields of health care, micro-finance, human rights and livelihood. Vision 2016 is a ten year comprehensive development program for the backward communities especially in northern India, undertaken by Human Welfare Foundation.
The award committee consists of E.T Muhammad Basheer (Chamber of Education), Dr. Muhammad Musthafa (Director, Distance Education, Calicut University), Dr. P.K Aruna and Dr. P.K Noushad. Other awardees are Dr. Aboobacker (CIGI), K.E Haris (SAFY), K.A Majeed (Kadagassery School), K.V Rabia (Literacy activist). The awards were declared as part of the national educational summit of chamber of education.
New Delhi (03/08/2012): Ten thousand Iftar Kits were distributed under the Iftar Kit 2012 Project. The programme was the combined effort of Human Welfare Foundation and IHH Turkey. The iftar kit catered the needs of 18,000 poorest of the poor families in Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Haryana in the last two years. This project, which brought happiness to thousands of needy families, has received extensive response from benefactors and well-wishers.
